Today’s Lab

Using Feedburner to create a podcast

Creating your RSS “podcast” Feed
This evening we will be using Feedburner to create a podcast RSS feed to your vlog. The screen shots shown here are from the Freevlog tutorial “Get an RSS Feed.” This pdf guide is meant to supplement, not replace, the fine video by Ryanne Hodson and the good folks at Freevlog.

ITunes Lab

Verify your podcast works!
Now is the time to test your podcast. I use the term “test” quite literally here. iTunes is what you will be presenting your Final Presentation from! You do not want this to fail!

Guest Speaker for today is Ryan Sholin. Ryan is a talented graduate student in Mass Communications at San Jose State University. He is working on a thesis about the adoption of weblogs at U.S. newspapers. He also works at a newspaper company, Gatehouse Media. There is a related blogging assignment noted below!

Today: InDesign CS3 Project, Due Feb. 27
The InDesign CS3 project will be announced in class. The theme is what I like and what I do not like at SJSU. You must have at least four stories, at least two likes and two dislikes. Your audience is the university community including the students, faculty and staff at SJSU. It will utilize the skills you have learned in the previous Photoshop and InDesign Labs. This is a two page newsletter with a name, a date, pictures and an issue number. Bring this newsletter into class next week in PDF form on either a flash drive or burned onto a CD. If you use art other than what is listed below please be sure to credit the source and be prepared to prove you have the right to use the material.
